Wandering into the bamboo forest of Kamakura, I was immediately struck by the restless, heavy wind. I had been walking the temple trails all morning, seeking a quiet place to rest, but the ancient grove was entirely alive with motion. Instead of trying to freeze the scene, I let the shutter drag, allowing the swaying branches to blur in long exposure. Stripped of color, the black and white image becomes less about the towering stalks themselves and more about the invisible breath moving them. It felt as though the wind was painting its own wild portrait, capturing the fleeting, restless energy of the road.
