Creating this Kamakura Buddha Daibutsu black and white abstract long exposure art photography, I stood before the towering bronze monument and simply watched the world move around it. Opening the shutter for an extended time, I allowed the endless stream of visitors to dissolve into ghost-like, blurred silhouettes, rushing past the absolute, immovable stillness of the Great Buddha. Staring at the heavy permanence of the ancient statue against the fleeting shadows of human life, I felt a deep sense of peace in knowing that while we hurry through our brief days, some things remain perfectly rooted in eternity.
